Even though Wretched Souls has not fully recovered from the terrible sunder we faced. We are still surviving. We also are quite active on the community RP web site for Earthen Ring. I will keep this site active where as I never know what the future may bring and this site still holds Wretched RP and guild history. ~ syv

Recovered From The Sunder

After spending sometime looking for a likely new host for the guild web site- I find myself back where I started. Wretched Souls suffered a terrible sunder a little over 6 months ago and came extremely close to being disbanned. At the time I thought it was the best thing for the guild- but thanks to Garielle- I didnt.

And I am glad that I didnt as I reach out through the Role play and casual community on Realm Wretched Souls is becoming well known. It even earned an honorable mention on the L.O.R.E Pod broad cast. An Earthen Ring Pod cast that discusses The Lore craft works and wonders partaining to this realm. I take great pride in knowing that Wretched stands right up there in the know- along side "Tears of Draenar."

I have recently returned to the website and began to dust things off and pretty it back up- making it fresh and welcoming. Took out the trash and will continue to add things that will make the web site worth a browse drive by.

For all the souls who have stuck with us... THANK YOU!!

This past Thursday meeting spawned a bit of dramatic concern among officers and the high command when the promotion of Kelazuril from freshly into officer (a position not surpassing 2 weeks) was about to achieve the highest rank any guild member can obtain beneath the Warlord Syvbia herself. This position being held only to date by Garielle and Dohana (who is on obvious break- due to real life). During the course of the night it was brought to my attention- why? Why now…And Why so soon? Very few perhaps do not recall when I had invited Dohana to the guild. Dohana was a team leader that enjoyed and appreciated the RP community both in and out of the guild as well as stepping into help Wretched make way for Raiding and Dungeon adventures. Dohana has been with us for a while and so it doesn’t surprise me that some memory of the history past was washed from the shore of time. When Dohana joined the guild she presented herself in such a way that she literally skipped through ranks like a hop scotch board- with the guildies cheering her on…Until she came to rest at the seat of the Head Hunter—next to Garielle and Char. (For those who remember Char) Char was a most admirable figurehead of the guild. But then… we lost char due to an ugly spout of drama that a few trusted officers (no longer with us) let brew for too long- with out a word. This left Dohana and Garielle in position and the seat open for at least one (if not two) able bodies to take the reign. Alas Dohana had to take a break from game due to real life events and left Garielle as the Head Hunter- as if you do not know- this position is actually the title “Guild Leader”. This title are ones who ultimately run the guild… knows all there is to know about what direction this guild is bound for… They are to know what we accept and don’t and how to handle any situation in the most honorable way.

With Dohana gone- for a while we had considered Karimee- (who is outstanding in her wit for raiding) but alas Real Life has her in a damper at the moment as well. Now Kelazuril joined Wretched Souls on January 18th of 2009. He was/is an admirable achiever even back in his beginning- and was considered back then for his guild achievements- however- Real Life (That ugly monster that tends to bite us all) gave reason for Kel and Shae to have to be off line for a good while. Does this make his previous achievements void…Or in the null? No, it does not. He returns some time later to new faces and new esteems and reopens his can of whip ass-Both in Raid and Role-Play. He has stepped in and opened doors that we never hoped to have open… for Wretched Souls. We are doing 5-10 full guilded raids and heroics!

I am aware that we all kick butt and work our butts off for the guild to get to where it is going. But my question to you is this…. Just how many of you actually “KNOW” the direction in which this guild has been intending to go? Yes we are Role Players and yes we like to do dungeons… But how many of us- enjoys Raiding and Role-playing both successfully? Now how many of you like Wiping out in raids and heroics? Repair Bills costing between 20 and 100 gold a run depending on your gear status and pocket change* Cha-Ching! * Kealzuril knows his stuff!

We do have some mighty fine qualified officers who could fill the seat of the headhunter and don’t think you have been over looked - This promotion is NOT being done as a way of showing favoritism. In fact it is a chance for Syvbia to dump some very, very important – Job factors on top of Kelazuril’s head. Things that Syvbia will be expecting him to delve into almost immediately- things that will help skyrocket Wretched Souls into the next age. Things that require a lot of time and devotion and sacrifice- It is not that we do not think that Arcangelo- Trell- Xar- Ungrant or any other officer who has been with us faithfully for so long- is not qualified-- YOU ALL ARE---. But that Kelazuril… surpasses these qualifications with the ability to give the guild what it truly NEEDS the most---The chance to show all of Earthen Ring- Horde and Alliance alike that Wretched Souls is done with her “Emerald Dream”!

I hope my officers and Souls understand… that with your support and understanding that with this event- of the unprecedented promotion of Kelazuril to Head Hunter- He will be able to assist you all in whatever goal you have set. -Whether it be Raider or Role Player or both—And with this said- I state that for the good of the guild and the spiritual body of the Wretched Souls- Kelazuril will be granted his new title… this evening Feb 19-2010 to HeadHunter.

HAPPY NEWS YEARS!

For the many of us who have remained faithful through wretched's trials both thick and thin- and for the many of you whop are just now stepping into the glory of our gran circle - I want to extend my blessing and good cheer that the each of us may have a new year that is filled with bounty to suffice all our needs.
In wretched we are more then just a bunch of people who log into their toon to play a game- we all realize there is a living being on the other end and we try to respect that.

Wretched's hope for the new year would be to see the rise in Raiders- We are not looking to be a hard Raid guild- but it would be nice to know that we have enough to cover the instances we would like to conquer- especially with Blizzard's new system of adding cross realm pugs! ( Most of the pugs will come from pvp servers with the attitude of every man for himself). I personally would like to remain in the company of those I know and trust.

Accepting outside help isn't too much a issue- as for anyone who is familiar with BoogieKnight / Lovebug- in guild. He has played better known toons such a Wecker ( on our bounty list ) form the guild * Round Table*. Rumor has it his alliance comrades plan to transfer over to the Horde side and most likely lend a supportive hand in the more advanced dungeons!

Role Play is open for anyone- Knowing the lore generally helps-if you are interested but not sure how we do it- feel free to speak with Garielle, Xar, Archangelo, Niavan, Lorthriel, or myself about the possibilies... ( If you are a RP'er and I didn't mention your name do not take it personal-)

It is long over due but I do so hope to have guild rules and information about the ranks on the forums soon as I am able.

During the course of the past week I have noticed an increase in gold donations in the bank- this is greatly appreciated. It is often thought that the bank is the main key to a promotion- It is not.... it helps to show you offer support..but it is only a small fraction of the things you should be doing to earn a guild rank. Gold donation in the guild helps to support the "mend armor" allowance. At this time we do not offer loans where as there is just not enough revenue going into the bank. The more gold that is donated and becomes a system that I can estimate a monthly average- will determine what else the bank can do for its members. So, keep in mind, the more you do for the bank the more, it will be able to do for you. Now by no means am I suggesting to go broke...we all need gold to live on in game... but should you have anything extra- will always help out.

I wanted to take time before I close to thank you each and everyone for the incredible support you have extended to the guild and to Lady Syvbia. My account was hacked and we were all robbed...not just my stuff but everyone who had donated to the bank... and the long dreary week awaiting the recovery seemed to last forever- but you guys didn't skip a beat- you picked up the shattered pieces of our vandalized pride and kept the guild going with gold and donations! It made me so proud! And.... that cycle... I cant thank you enough for your loving gift- it was a total surprise!

Now I want us to look forward to the new year a head and try to take another step up...and conquer our goals- what ever they maybe come-Let's make 2010 a year worth remembering :)

Where Do We Go From Here?

It has taken me a good while to really sit down and think what I would say on the front page concerning news on Wretched Souls. I want to start by letting many of you know that the guild is about 3yrs. We started out as a small alt guild. In truth I never had intentions of making a guild out of it. I was active in the better-known guild called Blood Fist-, which at that time was mastered by a forsaken Rogue name Kopfjagger. He was one man who stressed the importance of guild reputation. You/we as a people united in a guild- represent the guild as a whole. As Kopf- once implied “The each of use are like fingers on a mighty hand- (outstretched we can achieve a lot but in closed we form a fist) And as every one knows… a Fist is one powerful tool.”

Earthen Ring is an OLD server. It was one of the first/ if not THE first Role-play Realm offered on game release in November of 2004. It has seen many changes. In the good ol ‘days – Days before the Battle grounds, day before Burning Crusade, days before game holidays and all the fun things Blizzard offers now to make game play easy peezy…. (EVEN DAYS BEFORE AIE- wrecked our server) There was a time when unity was important. There was a time when guild focus was a must. A time when reputation is what took you places and what got you noticed. No one frowned on a PUG-run (Pick Up Group) because many already knew the reputation off the main leading guilds. If the reputation from your guild was not sound then you simply didn’t go. In the olden days of Warcraft (when AV lasted hours with literally no time set) there was a time when you didn’t have to worry with Ninja- it was so rare heard of…

These great feats became corrupted soon after Warcraft hit its one-year mark and for the next continuing years I slowly watched the world of Azeroth take on new shape as the game’s popularity grew. And the kiddies plummeted from the void in to the game – bringing with them their “Gays” in the points of view and their – lack of maturate acts of vituperation. The spawning of AIE and the downfall of honor brought on a new age in the history of Earthen Ring game play. Honor and respect became the doormats and many of the old classic players had either quit the game or moved on to a new server to avoid the despicable rift!

Why am I mentioning this now? Simply this… in a realm where nothing but self preservation rules and pugs are looked at as the trash of a lot in choices when running a dungeon. I want my souls to heed and know that the way we run the guild is very true to old standards but very effective. Guild reputation is so scarce now that when anyone sees it and knows our good nature they are more likely to take us under their wing and shower us with respect. Many of the remaining older more experienced guilds are most likely to take us under their wing and help us float from one goal to the other with out facing the otherwise disenchanting ploys of pug life. Reputation is very important and I encourage you all to take pride in what we represent- HONOR!

The past few months I have witnessed more guild turmoil and drama then I have the entire three yeas to date that the guild has existed. And most have come from folks who claimed loyalty to our guild- stating we were the best they had ever seen- only to leave us high and dry when we needed them most. Now I don’t blame anyone for seeking better in the game – we are all here to enjoy the game to the best of our own liking. What I do have a problem with is- the two faced-ness that comes following such departure.

With Zelox ( about to be a daddy ), Char, Krunk, Fye, and Julio gone… And Dohana quite busy with RL- It leaves the guild open to one question. Where do we go from here? Not long ago- I was challenged by Garb that the guild can not be a role-play guild and a raid guild at the same time. That I had to choose which one or I should surrender my leadership to some one whom could take the guild to new heights. I promptly ignored the insult. The fact remains- there is no rule stating you have to be one or the other on anything in the game. The fact remains that it is not the type of guild that makes you wholesome but the participation of the people within it. I could have easily chose to make the guild a RAID only- but this would cast off the Role Players who have come to use in trust that they would have a good home in which to play out their favorite part of the game. On the other hand I could have made the guild strictly Role Play- but this would have run off the Raiders who may have found a sound refuge and good tidings in a guild with virtually no drama. The ultimate fact remains- it doesn’t matter what title the guild is placed Under- Raiders or Role Players or Casuals- WHAT MAKES A GUILD IS THIS AND THIS ALONE!---- “The participation of its members!” The guild only grows and shapes itself as its members wish. If you wish to be involved with the guild - Earn ranks and help lift the guild to new heights and express that HEY WE ARE PROUD! Then my souls stand up and lets show the realm true guild respect and honor has not died. If you have any remote interest in RAIDS- if you have your eyes set on Ulduar???…. Stand up and tell Wretched- “LET’S DO THIS!” The guild will not make it to any Uber Dungeon with out you. Every officer or official who has left our guild in the last 2 months has done so seeking better in a more predominate raid guild. They were willing to take Quantity over Quality. I would like to see us go places. I don’t want to see our guild slowly wither and dry up from lack of activity. We are one of the last remaining guilds of a dying breed- the last of an idea…we stand for something that doesn’t need to be lost.

Garielle has made motion within the guild and game to set up several runs that will help you get geared and prepared for the Ultimate expansion to come. Catalysm will surely bring more epic quest and grand Dungeons- I would like to see Wretched prepared to run like the best of them!

Many in the realm don’t think a Role-Play and Raid guild can exist under the same banner—I don’t know about you but I am here to prove them wrong!!
